Showcase: Nurgle Chaos Lord on bike.

As you may have noticed, I've done a lot of work on my Chaos this month. That's because I really want to get these guys on the table, painted for league play.

Next up is the Lord on bike, which will run with the spawn.

No more One eye open! rolls!

That, and I haven't picked up too much Ork stuff lately. I still want to get some meganobz but the shipping crap has made it hard to get stuff lately.

Also, I was able to get the last few Blood Angels models I needed in trades, so I got the 3 bikes and 2 drop pods for no cash layout.  Not bad!

Anyway, on to the Cultists.

Showcase: Ork-Summoned Bloodthirster

It's been sitting around a while, but I finally finished my Bloodthirster.

The models is a Reaper Bones deamon, and I think it works pretty darn well.  The idea is that it was summoned through the Possession psychic power but the wierdboy wasn't perfectly possessed.

Anyway I really like how it came out, and didn't take long sinee I abandoned the idea of blending all the highlights on the skin.

I'm good on my Orks and Blood Angels for now, so I'm diving into the Chaos allies for my Ork army.

Showcase: Blood Angels Sternguard

Finished the first five of my Blood Angels Sternguard, made from both the BA tactical box and the Sternguard box.   The combi-weapons are all magnetized.

A few comments. First, my remaining half-pot of Blood Red is acting weird, coming out chalky.  So I had to look for an alternative. I started with the GW recommended conversion, Evil Sunz Scarlet. Turns out, it's almost identical to my blood red paint! I was absolutely floored by how close the two colors are.

Blood Red has always been hard to work with being very translucent.  In the past I base coated with an easier to use color (usually Vallejo Bloody Red) and then just gave a very light coat of Blood Red to restore the color.

The Evil Sunz Scarlet is a much more opaque then the old Blood Red and reduced the painting time of the armor dramatically.  That's the main reason why they went faster then expected.  It also made covering up mistakes a non-issue.

Second, I really like the 32mm bases. Gives more room to make something interesting and combined with the cork I used makes the models much more impressive overall.  Am I going to rebase anything? Not in the Blood Angels but I might just rebase my Space Wolves to match the BA's lava bases instead of the Tau's swamp bases.

Anyway, pics.

Not exactly sure what project is next. I have the other 5 Sternguard to do or I might start in on some Nurgle Cultists..

Showcase: Vindicare Assassin

Pretty much just copied the paint job off the GW website.

Not much to say on this guy. I did look forward to it, as it's smaller then a space marine or Ork, so it was something different.

Now that's all done, off to the Sterngaurd I go!
